The Heart of the Home: A Seamless Architectural Volume
In this realization, the kitchen transcends its functional origins to become the beating heart of the home. The concept of the "envelope" is expressed here through oak boiserie that entirely coats the walls, creating a seamless continuity of color and material between the kitchen and the living area.
The natural wood grain envelops the space, concealing large cabinetry and passages with millimetric precision, transforming vertical surfaces into a pure and harmonious architectural volume.
The Island: A Masterpiece of Engineering and Design
The true centerpiece of the composition is the kitchen island, a visually striking element that challenges conventional proportions:
-
The Cantilevered Top: A monumental Calacatta Viola surface extending with a 3-meter cantilever, transforming into a convivial table of extreme formal lightness.
-
Fluted Oak: The base of the island features a fluted texture that lends rhythm and depth to the wood, creating an elegant play of light and shadow that enhances its three-dimensionality.
-
Material Contrast: The Calacatta Viola, also used for the flooring and the backsplash of the workspace dialogues with the warmth of the oak in a sophisticated interplay between the coolness of Calacatta Viola and the softness of wood.
The uniqueness of this project lies in the details: everything is the result of a tailor-made approach that transforms the client's vision into a livable work of art. In this space, the transition between the ritual of cooking and the pleasure of relaxation occurs without visual interruption, in a textural embrace that wraps around the entire architecture of the home.
While the rest of the kitchen and boiserie follow rigorous, taut architectural lines, the TV unit introduces the softness of the curve. This sculptural design choice is not merely functional; it becomes a focal point that invites fluid movement throughout the room. The curvature of the wood, executed with artisanal mastery, dialogues with the verticality of the island’s fluting, creating a perfect counterpoint between geometry and organicity.
